Broken Filling

Unfortunately fillings don't last forever. They can become discoloured picking up coloured stains over time, or they can crack or even fall out. This usually happens if the fillings have been in place for some time, if you bite down too hard on a tooth that has a particularly large filling and break the filling or the tooth or if the filling doesn't fit tightly against the tooth. All these situations will result in bacteria, saliva and food debris seeping down under a filing and causing tooth decay and pain. In all cases we can remove the filling and treat the tooth improving the health of the whole mouth.
