Broken or Missing Tooth

Teeth are remarkably strong but they can chip, crack or break from biting down on something hard, being hit in the face or mouth, from falling down or from having cavities that weaken the tooth. When a tooth chips or breaks it may not hurt, although your tongue will usually feel the new sharp area quite quickly. Minor tooth fractures or cracks don't usually cause pain but if a large piece of the tooth breaks off then it will hurt due to the nerve inside the tooth becoming exposed and damaged. If you have a broken or cracked tooth it can't be managed at home – you must make an appointment to see your dentist as soon as possible. We are able to quickly diagnosis the problem and implement an effective treatment regardless of whether it is a minor fracture or something more serious.
